What You Need to Know Before Applying to Join MentorCONNECT

MentorCONNECT is not the right community for everybody.

MentorCONNECT members who do well are those who:

1. Make recovery their #1 daily priority
2. Understand that recovering from an eating disorder is a matter of life or death
3. Understand that the sole purpose of joining a pro-recovery community like MentorCONNECT is to gain additional support to overcome their life-threatening disease
4. Treat MentorCONNECT membership as a privilege and responsibility rather than a right
5. Put the wellbeing of the entire community first by maintaining complete confidentiality, thoroughly reviewing all of the participation policies and application orientation materials, and following them to the letter
6. Are courteous and respectful when interacting with the MC Leadership and their fellow members
7. Are willing to take personal responsibility for their own recovery progress and goals
8. Work hard to continuously maintain other sources of ongoing recovery support beyond what MentorCONNECT can offer
9. Work hard to continuously maintain such level of professional medical care as is necessary for the treatment of eating disorders
10. Work with the community as it exists rather than attempting to modify it to personal preferences and needs
